 Medium: Oil on Canvas Board

This painting is inspired by the verses in Matthew 4:13-17

"And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up."

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say,

"Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Early in the morning when the sun was making its way over the horizon this was what I saw.

The Galilean countryside has been a source of endless inspiration for me, because here Jesus walked, taught and worked miracles. His eyes would have also beheld this same view when He was on earth, since not much has changed since then!

His words are a powerful reminder that repentance is the only way to restoration and peace with God. This landscape hints at that supernatural peace, which was birthed here in Galilee.
