"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over." Psalm 23:5

How grateful I am for the covenant I have with the Lord!

The inspiration for this painting are the words of Psalm 23 penned by David. Generations of believers have  since have found strength and comfort in those words.

Yet David did not understand, even as he gratefuly declared his covenant with God,  that he was writing about a powerful covenant to come. His psalm was about a Good Shepherd, the Messiah, whose very body and blood would usher in a covenant far greater that what he enjoyed—the new covenant.

This new covenant ratified by the blood of Jesus us, delivered completely from every threat and attack of the enemy. The table God prepared for us is the communion table where we enter into that covenant to nullify every plot and plan of the enemy.

We partake of a feast of perfect peace in the midst of the storms of life. I have been privileged to experience it many times in my life.

That is the essence of this painting. It is intended to be a reminder in the home of the client, who chooses to purchase it, of the continual covenant of God's faithfulness that will be theirs. This painting will be a perfect gift to leave as a legacy for future generations.
